How did the brewer cross the country? On a bike of course, but Brains’ bike isn’t just any old bike, oh no. Specially adapted to deliver their beer around the capital, and now the country, the pimped out baker’s bike has just finished a gruelling 150 mile long relay across Wales to deliver a cask of their latest seasonal beer, Le Peloton, to the White Lion Royal Hotel in Bala.
Brewed to celebrate the summer of cycling, which kicked off in Yorkshire, golden ale brewed with Welsh honey, set off on its 14 hour long journey at 1pm on Thursday 3rd July and arrived in Bala on the Friday, in time for the start of the Tour de France the following day.
“We’re all keen cyclists,” said the Head Brewer Bill Dobson, “but cycling 150 miles through some pretty hilly parts of Wales, weighed down with a cask of our seasonal beer was tough.”
The ride was well worth it however, as the team of 13 from the Welsh brewery raised more than £1,000 for Wooden Spoon, a charity that supports disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
Le Peloton ABV 4.0% is exclusively available in Welsh Tescos and these select pubs throughout July.
